CLIENT/COACH PARTNERSHIP: You and your coach have a professional relationship existing exclusively for the purposes of cultivating increased satisfaction in your life and relationships. This relationship functions most effectively when it remains strictly professional and involves only the aspects related to wellness coaching. Justin can best serve your needs by focusing solely on your goals and avoiding any type of social or business relationship.
COACHING VS TREATMENT: Iwigá's Life Coaches are not licensed physicians/psychologists providing traditional mental health treatment. They neither make nor treat diagnoses, Rather, they provide alternative therapy that is complementary to the healing arts services that are offered by providers who are licensed by the state. Iwigá offers services that are in compliance with California state laws, including California Business & Professional Code § 2053.6. We integrate an individual’s body, mind, and spirit/spirituality because sometimes we are stuck in one or all of these vital areas of our experience. Our Life Coaches have received training in several modalities that support an integrative approach to coaching including Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, touch and bodywork, and several other approaches.
AVAILABLE SERVICES: Iwigá offers a wide array of coaching services, including individual, family, couples, and group services. Effective coaching is founded on mutual understanding and good rapport between client and coach. It is our intent to convey the policies and procedures used in our practice, and we will be pleased to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
RISKS AND BENEFITS: Coaching can be beneficial, but as with any change, there are inherent risks. During coaching, you may have discussions about personal issues which may bring to the surface uncomfortable emotions such as anger, guilt, and sadness. The benefits of coaching can far outweigh any discomfort encountered during the process, however. Some of the possible benefits are improved personal relationships, reduced feelings of emotional distress, and specific problem-solving. Justin cannot guarantee these benefits, of course. It is his desire, however, to work with you to attain your personal goals for your life.
COACHING: We provide short-term coaching designed to address many of the issues his clients are dealing with. Your first visit will be an assessment session in which you and he will determine your concerns, and if you both agree that our practitioners can meet your needs, a plan will be developed.
Our goal is to offer the best experience available to you. If at any time you feel that you and he are not a good fit, please discuss this matter with your coach. As coaches, we do not offer therapy or treatment for any psychiatric disorders. Should we determine that your needs require or would best be addressed by a clinical therapist, we will discuss this with you and provide you with a list of psychotherapists.
Achieving wellness is more than the absence of disease or distress; it is a state of optimal well-being. It goes beyond the curing of illness or alleviation of stress to achieving health. Through the ongoing integration of our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual self, each person has the opportunity to create and preserve a whole and happy life. Iwigá's services are designed to provide clients with an integrated solution for their mind, body, spirit, and life to enhance their lives and resolve issues. He may incorporate approaches such as Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing, or several other approaches our coaches have been certified or trained in. Your coach will inform you of the various techniques they will implement in your session to aid you in reaching your wellness goals.
